When using IMDb (potentially others) as the source for ratings and overlays, seasons do not have a rating as there is no source rating on those websites.

A workaround for this would be to average the ratings of the episodes within the season to produce the season rating.

While in theory this sounds good it could be a major performance hit when it has to retrieve the ratings for hundreds of episodes to calculate an average rating for a season.

Just had the same thought. Would definitely love this feature

+1 when full seasons are added to Plex the season poster appears in recently added, so no overlays on season posters results in an inconsistent experience.
